Terms of Use

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

These terms apply when you use DomainPulse. By using it, or by requesting a report, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use DomainPulse.

What DomainPulse is

DomainPulse is a free tool run by Snapwre that checks a domain's public setup: DNS records, WHOIS/RDAP registration details, security certificate, web server, a short list of common ports, subdomains and reputation. It can also email you a PDF report of the results.

To do this, DomainPulse looks up public records and connects to the domain's own servers.

Acceptable use

You agree to:

  • Only scan domains you own, or that you're allowed to assess.
  • Only request reports for an email address that is yours, or that you're allowed to use.

You agree not to:

  • Use DomainPulse to attack, harass or harm anyone, or to plan or support an attack.
  • Scan in bulk or with scripts, bots or other automated tools.
  • Get around our rate limits or report limits, for example by using many IP addresses or email addresses.
  • Disrupt, overload or try to break into DomainPulse, or the services it relies on.
  • Use DomainPulse for anything illegal.

We may block or limit access if we think these terms are being broken.

About the results

  • Results come from public data and third-party services, such as DNS, domain registries, certificate logs and reputation databases. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and a check can fail or time out.
  • Results are cached for up to an hour, so a scan may not show very recent changes.
  • IP location is approximate. It shows roughly where a network is registered, not where a server or person actually is.
  • A “clean” reputation only means the services we checked hadn't flagged the domain when we asked. It isn't a guarantee that the domain is safe.
  • The health score and grade are our own summary of the checks we run. They aren't an official rating or certification.

Not professional advice

DomainPulse gives general information only. It isn't professional security, legal or other advice, and it doesn't replace a proper security assessment. Before making important decisions, check with a qualified professional.

No warranty

DomainPulse is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, available, secure, error-free or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Snapwre isn't responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using DomainPulse or relying on its results, including lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Changes to the service

We may change, pause or stop DomainPulse, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. This includes changing which checks it runs and the limits on how much you can use it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. Any dispute about them will be handled by the courts of Ethiopia, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If you keep using DomainPulse after a change, you accept the updated terms.

How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
